There is No Religion in the Art
The University and other Bujinkan Dojos throughout the world have members of many different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. True Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu as practiced at the University does not teach or promote any religious beliefs or practices.
The Munro Bujinkan Dojo
Instructors who belong to the Bujinkan often identify their particular Bujinkan school with either their first or last name incorporated into the title of the school. We utilize both “Martial Arts University” and “Munro Bujinkan Dojos” as school names. The “University” title refers to how we teach and how we organize the school and our instructional programs. The “Bujinkan” title refers to the collection of arts that we teach and the organization that we represent.
Our University Mission
Our mission is to guide our members in unleashing their true physical and mental potential, so that they may sense the intentions of others, discipline their minds, devastate and evade opponents, and expand their senses for the purpose of protecting themselves and achieving their goals in life.
Our University Goals
The Martial Arts University teaches the pure mental and physical arts of the Ninja to the general public. The school utilizes modern, cutting edge educational technology in order to accelerate the students' learning mastery, their skill effectiveness, and their skill retention.
Some individuals inside and outside of the art feel that this training should remain esoteric or secret in nature, where we feel that it should be made as accessible as possible to the public at large.
Our University History
Munro is also known for designing and teaching modern applications of the art, including "Front Seat Combat" (a program that teaches anti-carjacking techniques), “In-AIr Combat” (airline anti-hostage techniques), "In-Water Combat" (fighting in the water), and the uses of, and defenses against many modern weapons.
Training, Grading, and Ranks
Donald Munro is able to train and grade students to the level of 4th Degree Black Belt entirely within the University. Students who wish to obtain their 5th Dan and above will continue to train and teach at the University, but must travel to Japan to be tested by Hatsumi Sensei for their actual 5th Degree Black Belt. After completing this test, training continues (especially through teaching others) back at the Martial Arts University.
Donald Munro and his team of highly dedicated, skilled, and positive Instructors will train you quickly and effectively, while minimizing any risk of injury. Training is enjoyable and open, without the militaristic attitude that many other schools promote.
